What we do and how we work

Step 1 – Selecting your material

Our showroom in Bath has over 20 displays incorporating Granite, Marble and Quartz as well as numerous samples of other materials available to help you choose your material.  Once you have selected the material for your project, we will be able to provide you with an estimate on receipt of a detailed plan.  If a plan is not available, you can download our guide which contains a page for you to sketch your plan onto showing where the granite is required, all measurements, any sink and hob cut outs, drainer grooves, where upstands are needed etc. If in doubt, please call for further advice.

Step 2 – Templating

Once you have a completion date for your kitchen or vanity unit, please contact us on 01225 780062 to arrange a templating date. Please read our checklist to ensure that everything required for a template to be taken has been done.  Once a date has been agreed, our templater will visit your home and take detailed templates of the area to be covered with the worktops.  It is advisable to be present when the templates are taken, in case either you or the templater has any questions.  Templating time will vary depending on the size of the kitchen, but please expect the templater to be with you for about 2 hours.  Once the final templates are ready, these will be compared to your plan to finalise costs.  A final price will be provided before manufacturing commences.

Step 3 – Fitting

The manufacturing process normally takes 10 days from the point of template, although seasonal pressures can lengthen the process.  We will contact you with a fitting date as soon as we know when your kitchen will be ready.  Please allow at least 7 days from the date of template before contacting us regarding your fitting date, as we will be unable to provide you with a date before then.

As granite is a very heavy material, our fitters are unable to remove their boots as they enter a house as they must wear steal toe capped boots for health and safety reasons.  If you are worried about any of your flooring, please take any necessary precautions to protect it, but please do not use loose dust sheets as these may cause a trip hazard.

If you have any pets, it is essential that  you keep them out of the area we will be working in.  This will help prevent any accidents as they may ‘get under the feet’ of our fitters.  We also use adhesives and sealants which have a strong odour, which may be harmful to animals.

Fitting times vary in length depending on the size of the kitchen, but you can expect our fitting team to be on site for an average of 3 hours, although they may be on site longer.  Although you are not required to be present for the entire time, we request that you are available on completion of the fit to confirm that you are happy with the finished product.

It is advisable to avoid working directly on your worktops for the first 24 hours as the sealant needs to completely dry, so where possible use chopping boards and clear up any spills immediately.

Please note that although we will place undermounted sinks into position, we are not qualified plumbers, so we are unable to plumb in the sink or connect your taps.

Step 4 – Payment

Payment for your worktops can be made by cheque, bank transfer or card payment.  Please note that due to costs imposed on us by the credit card companies, credit card payments will incur a 2% charge e.g.  £1000 payment would incur a fee of £20. Debit card payments do not incur any charges.
